Cottage Farm
Some items from the Caulfield Collection found over at Etsy shop Cottage Farm. That wallpaper would be so cute for a little boy's nursery.

Happy Weekend
My 23rd birthday is on Sunday, so I'll be spending the next few days eating lots of sweets (my mom sent a whole box of Sucre goodness - so spoiled!), listening to Blink 182's "What's my age again?" and making Hunter do my chores (love you!). Here's to a great weekend full of great moments like the one pictured above!

The Outer Banks
So, for President's Day weekend we decided to explore the outer banks of North Carolina with some friends. Seriously, it was just what the doctor ordered. It was beautiful, relaxing and so much fun. The perfect weekend getaway. It also reminded me of all the Nicholas Sparks novels I filled my head with in junior high. Do you feel like they all take place here? Or is it just me?
An ocean kind of girl, I honestly think I'm happiest when I'm by the seaside... and Hunter's side (my apologies for being a cheesy). We saw three (!) lighthouses in one day and a couple of gorgeous sunsets (no sunrises, we took advantage of sleeping in).
And then we stopped by Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia on the way back, where we saw lots of pretty brick buildings, people dressed up in period costumes and did silly stuff like posing in the stocks:
Being new to the east coast (I'm from Southern California), it was great to see a part of the country I had never been to before. While I don't think I'll ever get used to the cold weather, this place is definitely growing on me...
Granny Chic
Hunter makes fun of me sometimes for liking things that are somewhat granny style. I think this hot floral mess might go in that category, but I love it anyway. Really, it's a perfect place for knitting.

Paul Smith Fall 2011
I've never been a tomboy. In fact, I painted my childhood bedroom pink - and it was my own decision. I'm very girly, yet I love these slouchy, unkempt menswear looks by Paul Smith. There is something great about wearing polka dots that aren't a sundress and hot pink pants that aren't hot pants. See more photos here.

"In the beginning it wasn't a love thing"
I love this story in New York magazine on how The Sartorialist and Garance Doré fell in love: The Street Is Their Oyster.

A Life Without Internet...
... is apparently a life filled with reading, for me. Our internet went out on Monday and since then I've finished I Was Told There'd Be Cake and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. And now I'm nearly finished with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (third time reading it) and Love in the Time of Cholera. This reminds me of when Hunter started his first week of law school in August, leaving me in our furniture-less apartment with nothing to do. That week I finished exactly six books (Okay, so three of them were from the Hunger Games series... not that impressive). And while I'm sure I read a lot while surfing the world wide web, nothing I read is as substantial or creative or imaginative as the books I would be reading. And while I still read a good amount during times of connectivity, I obviously don't read as much as I would if I was without the internet.
I feel kind of sad about this.
P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts lately - Comcast is coming on Friday so hopefully I'll be up and running again, soon! In the mean time.. I'll be reading...

Patouf A/W 2011
Yet again, I've found another great collection introduced to me by Honey Kennedy (it's a great blog, you should check it out). I also really love the description she used for the Potouf A/W 2011 collection: "It is Little Red Riding Hood meets Coco Chanel meets an Ivy League art student in fashion fatigues."
Pretty cute, right?

love ever after
To celebrate love today, you should go through this sweet photo series by Lauren Fleishman on couples who have been married for fifty years or more. It's funny, sweet and touching all at the same time.

I love tiles
I love decorating with tile. In fact, being in Portugal I was that annoying touristy girl photographing all the tile on the pretty houses and churches and buying out all the postcards with tiles photographed on them. And unfortunately, there's not much out there as far as inspiration for us tile lovers right now. So I kind of flipped out when I saw this photo over at seventy tree with these pretty tiles made by made a mano. Am I alone in my obsession?

Valentine's Day Fort
Yeah, my forts have never looked this good. Thankfully, there's an awesome how-to by designer Justina Blakeney over at Design*Sponge. And just in time for Valentine's Day weekend...

An Anthropologie Wedding
I mean, I'll probably need a dress to renew our vows for our two year anniversary in August, right? So... it's not weird if I go try some of these on? Okay, good. See you there! BHLDN is available Feb. 14th.
